Nearly three months ago, visitors and readers alike voted in the second "Torture the Vault Master" poll. I am happy to say that I have finally completed a review for the cinematic atrocity they chose, a little low-budget monster movie/western called Godmonster of Indian Flats. Enjoy the review, and expect a chance to choose my fate again, sometime in March!

MOVIE OF THE MONTH:
Visit the 'Friday the 13th (1980)' IMDB Page!

"They were warned...They are doomed...And on Friday the 13th, nothing will save them."

In celebration of Jason Voorhees' return from "suck-dom" (we hope), I decided that the classic 1980 Friday the 13th was the perfect candidate for the current "Movie of the Month." After a young boy drowns and some counselors are murdered, Camp Crystal Lake is shut down. Many years later, someone buys the camp and attempts to reopen it with the aid of some horny teens. Soon, the kids are partying, having sex, and getting brutally murdered by a mysterious assailant. If you've seen this flick (and who hasn't?), you know who's behind the murders and why. For the rest of you that haven't seen it (I command you to cry in shame!), it does provide an unexpected twist, and unlike the films that followed, this one wasn't set up for a sequel. While it isn't exactly my favorite film in the Friday the 13th franchise, it is a cinematically historic film that changed the face of horror forever. Before you check out the remake, give the original a look (especially now that it is uncut on DVD and Blu-ray!) and witness the genesis of 80's slasher craze!
Purchase this movie at:
Amazon.com (Blu-ray), Amazon.com (DVD), Movies Unlimited (Blu-ray), or Movies Unlimited (DVD).
