| Happy Belated Friday the 13th b-movie fans! To celebrate that most famous day in horror movie history, I
wrote up an extensive article about the Friday the 13th films, where I rank them, starting
from the worst, and slashing my way up to what I consider to be the best. It took four days to complete this beast;
CLICK HERE to check it out! I am still in the process of
writing up some new reviews for the site, but they probably won't appear until late next week because my next three days are booked solid
with trips to the movie theater (Rifftrax Live: Reefer Madness and
Piranha 3D) and a day trip to Cherry Hill, NJ to hang out at MONSTER MANIA CON XV! If you're going to that particular con this weekend, drop me a line via e-mail or over at the Vault's Facebook page and let me know! Have a great weekend everyone! |

| In an attempt to get back into fighting shape and start updating on a more regular basis here at the Vault,
I hopped in on a blog-a-thon over at Z For Zombies entitled HEARTBREAKERS. The
idea of this blogging marathon was to have various writers contribute an article detailing a movie (or in some cases the movie)
that broke their cinema-loving hearts and shook their faith in Hollywood! To read my contribution CLICK HERE; don't
forget to read everyone else's articles too! |

| SHARKATHALON ends today, and I managed to sneak in one last written piece for this celebratory online event. Check out
my Top Ten Most Ridiculous Shark Movie Moments! There's a few no-brainers on the list, but I'm sure one or two of my choices might surprise you. That's it for today, but stay tuned for more shark-themed content as the
B-Movie Film Vault's "SUMMER OF THE SHARK" commences next week! Oh, and before I go: HAPPY 35TH ANNIVERSARY JAWS and HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all you dads out there! |
|---|
| June 10, 2010
| Shark fever has begun at the Vault with the posting of my old review for JAWS: The Revenge!
Actually, very little of the decade old original review was kept, as I went through and basically rewrote
the entire thing! Stay tuned for more shark-themed reviews as I participate in the upcoming SHARKATHALON roundtable that is being hosted by
Radiation-Scarred Reviews! |

| June 6, 2010
| Today is the TENTH ANNIVERSARY of The B-Movie Film Vault! Many thanks to all of you
casual visitors, frequent readers, and fans! Without you, this site would perish from this Earth! Also a huge thanks to Andrew
Borntreger (Badmovies.Org) for all his help and support over the years;
you are the true King of b-movies and a fantastic human being! |

| After weeks of false starts, I finally completed my lengthy capsule review for the
atrocious remake of Clash of the Titans! This movie has a few
saving graces, but overall its a total mess and not really worth your time. More reviews are coming soon, Genre Watch will be
making its triumphant return, and other cool stuff is bound to pop up on the site in coming weeks! Stay tuned and keep fighting
the good fight b-movie fans! |
|---|
| April 02, 2010
| I'm going out tonight to see the new Clash of the Titans and
thought it appropriate to celebrate this remake (and the original) by posting a Top Ten List of Ray Harryhausen Creations
in my blog! But I was not alone in this endeavor for the mighty Bill Adcock from Radiation-Scarred Reviews
also posted his very own top ten list! Check 'em both out and revel in the awesomeness
that is Ray Harryhausen! |

| April 01, 2010
| Happy April Fool's Day b-movie fans! Rather than play a prank on you, I've decided
to post a new capsule review for a little film called Dinosaur Valley Girls!
This goofy low budget sex comedy features a prehistoric world full of stop-motion dinosaurs, sex-starved cavegirls, cavemen
armed with fart jokes, and a healthy dose of jiggly cavegirl jugs! Next up on the review slate is another titillating piece of
cinema called Bitch Slap. Look for that in another week or so; until then,
have a nice Easter everyone! |
|---|
| March 23, 2010
| It's been just over a week since I was bumping elbows with some of the biggest names
in horror at Monster Mania Con XIV (read about my adventures HERE),
where I caught the world premiere of Jay Woelfel's insanely trippy Closed for the Season.
This movie totally caught me off guard and was one of the weirdest films I have seen in recent memory! If you get the chance
to see it, prepare to have your mind blown! That's all for now; expect some more capsule reviews to pop up soon because I
have a ton of screeners to go through! |
|---|
| February 10, 2010
| A new contributor to The Vault, the mysterious "Holly Hobgoblin," has bestowed
upon me a review for 2007's shocking horror-comedy, Teeth! This twisted
tale follows a young virgin named Dawn who is horrified to discover that she has vagina dentata! What she once considered
a curse, eventually becomes her weapon of choice against rapists, molestors, and single-minded menfolk that treat her unkindly.
Guys, prepare to whince! Expect more stuff from Holly in the future and stay tuned for my review of Krull
which should be up sometime this weekend. |
|---|
| February 5, 2010
| Sibling rivalry destroys Japan when Sanda and Gaira duke it out in War of the Gargantuas!
This is my second and final contribution to Bearded Weirdo's GOIN' BANANAS roundtable; be sure to
read everyone else's reviews as they become available! |
|---|
| January 28, 2010
| Here is the very first (and certainly not last) update for 2010! To kick off
the new year, check out my capsule review for The Wildman of Kentucky: The Mystery
of Panther Rock, a low budget documentary in which a team of investigators ventures into Kentucky's "Frazier Land" to
find the elusive Bigfoot. Expect a lot of new stuff to appear on the site over the next month including: the final six films in my unfinished "Top Ten Cult Christmas Oddities,"
a review for War of the Gargantuas which is my main contribution to
Bearded-Weirdo's GOIN' BANANAS! roundtable, and a review (finally!) for the "Torture the Vault Master"
poll winner, Robot Monster 3D! Check back soon for more b-movie goodness! |

| December 23, 2009
| Ladies, if you decide to get down and dirty with your husband this Christmas while he is dressed as Santa
Claus, make sure the kids are in bed, or else they just may go insane later on down the road and become a killer Santa Claus!
Such is the sad and surreal fate of Harry Stadling from Christmas Evil, the seventh strangest film on my
continued Top Ten List of Cult Christmas Oddities! This could very well be the last update until after Christmas, so Happy Holidays
to everyone from The B-Movie Film Vault! |
|---|
| December 21, 2009
| Silent Night, Deadly Night captures the number eight spot
of my top ten list of Cult Christmas Oddities. A troubled youth dons a Santa outfit, and goes on a yuletide murdering spree in this critically (and parentally) maligned classic!
Check back soon for the return of an old review from the ancient Vault archives and number seven of my continued cult Christmas countdown! |
|---|
| December 18, 2009
| My Top Ten List of Cult Christmas Oddities continues with the classic 1964
film, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians! Idiots from the red planet kidnap Santa in order
to bring Christmas to all the little martian boys and girls; major stupidity ensues! Check back soon for number eight on my
top ten list, and expect a new review or two to creep up as well! |
|---|
| December 17, 2009
| My Top Ten List of Cult Christmas Oddities kicks off with Santa vs. the Snowman
in the number ten slot. This fun CGI epic pits Jolly Old Saint Nick against an ambitious Snowman who wants to take over Santa's gig and be loved
by everyone. How does the mute Snowman plan on doing this? With a massive army of snowmen of course! Check back again soon
for number nine on my list plus other new content, right here at the B-Movie Film Vault! |
|---|
| December 11, 2009
| The B-Movie Film Vault Christmas Podcast '09 has been
uploaded for your listening enjoyment. This podcast contains an audio review for 1984's Silent Night, Deadly Night
and features audio clips and music from the film! Check back soon for more new stuff, and don't forget
to cast your ballot in the latest Torture the Vault Master poll! There's only eight days left to vote,
so get to it! |
|---|
| December 6, 2009
| The Wild Man of the Navidad
is my latest exploration into the realm of independent cinema. Wild Man tells
the (allegedly) true story about the redneck denizens of Sublime, Texas being terrorized by an angry
ManBearPig that kills its victims with patented "deer antler claw" technology. That's it for the moment
but be sure to keep checking the Genre Watch page for weekly updates
and expect more reviews, a new podcast, and quite possibly a holiday-themed top ten list as we get closer to Christmas. Oh, and
don't forget to cast your ballot in the latest Torture the Vault Master poll! Voting ends on December 19th, so hurry! |
|---|
| November 23, 2009
| Army of Darkness makes its
triumphant return to the (old) reviews archive after two nights of painstaking work. (God... I really sucked as a writer
seven years ago!) Also, be sure to check out my first ever comic book review for the 1991 - 1992 Batman versus Predator
mini-series. Stay tuned for more new content b-movie fans! |
|---|
| October 7, 2009
| Woody Harrelson talks trash, kills zombies, and searches for the ever elusive
Hostess Twinkie in Ruben Fleischer's fantastic horror/comedy, Zombieland! This
is probably the best movie I've seen in quite a while, and I had no qualms about giving it my highest rating! More new stuff is on
the way, so check back again soon! (Oh, and in case you weren't keeping track... 24 more days 'til Halloween!) |
|---|
| October 1, 2009
| If you plan on having a Race With the Devil, you better
be as fast as Hell... and have Warren Oates and Peter Fonda riding shotgun! Enjoy the new capsule review gang and stay tuned for
more new content as we get closer and closer to the greatest holiday of the year: Halloween! |
|---|
| August 08, 2009
| A freshly written capsule review for Gris Grimly's Cannibal Flesh Riot! finally finds
its way to the Vault archives! Stay tuned for even more b-movie goodness over the next few weeks as I'll be contributing
a review of Double Dragon to an upcoming video game-themed rountable,
plus I'll be tackling some new screeners that I just got in the mail, and hopefully, amidst all of that, I'll manage to keep
the B-Movie Film Vault Genre Watch going strong! Enjoy your weekend b-movie fans;
I'll see you again very soon! |
|---|
| July 22, 2009
| Finally polished off my Top Ten List of Killer Animal Films with my number one pick. What film beat out all the rest for the top spot on my list? Well Stephen Spielberg's JAWS of course! Not only did this movie make Spielberg a household name, but it single-handedly began the Summer blockbuster craze, and created the template that so many other films would rip-off over the next three decades! Enjoy the new article and be sure to check back in another week or two for some fresh new reading material because the Vault Master is back on the scene! |
|---|
| June 9, 2009
| Three days ago, the B-Movie Film Vault entered its NINTH year online! Things in my life have been crazy lately, so I don't have any new reviews or anything to share with you, but expect me to start updating the site regularly again in the near future. I still have to finish off my top ten list of killer animal flicks, have a few screeners I need to tackle, plus I have various other site-related tasks that I have been putting off for far too long. Also, my condolences to David Carradine's family. His death was unexpected and tragic and has been the butt of far too many jokes, and heartless headlines from certain daily news publications. (NY Post, I'm looking in your direction on that one. "HUNG FU?" Really? That is just cold...) So check back in another week cult movie fans and maybe... just maybe... you'll find something new here at the Vault. |

| April 7, 2009
| Razorback gets the number two spot on my "Top Ten List of Killer Animal Films!"
This Australian classic is now sadly rare and out of print, but well worth finding. In this film, a giant razorback (warthog)
terrorizes a secluded town in the Australian outback. The only people that stand in its way are a vengeful old coot and a grieving husband.
Do they have what it takes to turn this freak of nature into a month's supply of delicious bacon?! Check out my blog article
and find out! |

| April 6, 2009
| The B-Movie Film Vault hits the airwaves, with the first ever internet broadcast
of BMFV-6600! Confused? Well the name of my "station" is comprised of the Vault's initials (BMFV), and the date that the Vault
officially went online (June 6, 2000). I had fun making this half-hour show, and I'm sort of happy with the end results. I did
run into a multitude of issues when making the show (methinks I should turn off my noisy propane heater to avoid a lot of
annoying background noise), but hey, there's always a few bugs that need working out when you start a new project, right? The
first episode of my (hopefully) ongoing podcasts, kicks off with a review for Prophecy,
the 1979 killer mutant bear fiasco that was directed by John Frankenheimer. I then follow that up with a bit of the film's soundtrack,
and close things out with movie news, and updates on upcoming cult DVD, Blu-ray, and theatrical releases. CLICK HERE to listen
to episode one of BMFV radio, and feel free to either e-mail your comments, or post your thoughts HERE in the Forum!

| April 5, 2009
| Director Lewis Teague, and screenwriter John Sayles put together one of the greatest
killer animal flicks of all time in 1980. Of course I'm speaking of the late-night TV classic, Alligator!
After a young girl's pet alligator is flushed down the toilet, it returns a dozen years later as a voracious, giant, mutant reptile
with an insatiable taste for us puny humans! Check back soon to see what movie "hogged" the number two spot on my top ten
(technically eleven) list of favorite killer animal films! |
|---|
| April 1, 2009
| Joe Dante and Roger Corman teamed up in 1978 to bring us one of the greatest
"JAWS" rip-offs of all time: Piranha!
This killer animal classic features a school of carnivorous mutant fish that devours hapless swimmers, fishermen, scuba divers, and anyone
else unfortunate enough to be in the waters of "Lost River." Check back tomorrow for number three on my continued killer
animal countdown, which features a raging reptile with an insatiable appetite. |
|---|
| March 25, 2009
| William Girdler makes it onto the list once again, with his 1976 "Jaws" knock-off,
Grizzly! Mutilations, bodily dismemberment, and a park ranger blowing up a killer grizzly bear with a bazooka
are just some of the highlights you'll see in this cult classic! Swing by the site tomorrow to see what movie made it to
the number four spot on my continued "Top Ten List of Killer Animal Films!" |
|---|
| March 24, 2009
| Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds pecks its
way into the number six spot, in my continued countdown of killer animal films. As dated as the film is, I still find it to be an effective shocker,
and it was hard for me not to put it in the top five. Speaking of which, we are now halfway through the list, and I assure
you that I've been saving the best for last! Check back tomorrow to see what beat out "The Birds" for the number five
position. |
|---|
| March 23, 2009
| The countdown continues with ORCA splashing into the number seven
spot on my "Top Ten List of Killer Animal Films!" This film can only be described as Death Wish meets
JAWS and features a beautiful score by the late and great Ennio Morricone!
Check back tomorrow for number six on the countdown, and if you're lucky, you may even find a new review in the archives!
|
|---|
| March 22, 2009
| William Girdler's Day of the Animals
is number eight on my list of Top Ten Killer Animal Films.
Check my blog tomorrow for number seven on the countdown! And if you'd like to make some comments, discuss the choices I've made
for my list, or want to post a list of your own favorite killer animal flicks, then pay a visit to the BMFV Forum!
|
|---|
| March 21, 2009
| Top ten lists are all the rage these days on the web, so I decided to start one
of my own. If you head on over to the B-Movie Film Vault BLOG, you can catch the first two installments of my "Top Ten List of Killer
Animal Films." It was really hard to narrow down my faves, but I think I came up with a fairly balanced list. So even though
you many not agree with my choices for the nine and ten spots on the list, you can rest assured that bigger and better
films await you as the countdown continues. Stay tuned for number eight on my list tomorrow night, and expect more new stuff to
pop up at the Vault soon. |
|---|
| February 11, 2009
| It's a little late, but still pretty damned useful: check out the latest edition
of the weekly BMFV Genre Watch. This week is highlighted by a
strong slate of DVD and Blu-ray releases (e.g. My Name is Bruce, Chocolate, and Street Fighter: Extreme Edition)
plus the arrival of the all new, and highly anticipated, Friday the 13th
in theaters! Check back soon for new reviews and more, right here at the B-Movie Film Vault! |
|---|
| February 9, 2009
| For those of you who voted in the last "Torture the Vault Master Poll," you can now rest
easy, for I have finally completed and posted my review for Godmonster of Indian Flats! This
movie was pretty rough, but I survived my viewing of it and eagerly anticipate my next challenge. Speaking of which, the new
torture poll will pop up sometime next month, and it'll be populated with some truly awful stuff. Once again, don't pull
any punches on my account; I can take the abuse. That's it for tonight, but check back tomorrow for the newest edition of
Genre Watch and the return of Army of Darkness to the Vault's old
review archives! |
|---|
| February 3, 2009
| Enjoy this week's edition of the B-Movie Film Vault
Genre Watch! This week is peppered with some cool DVD and Blu-ray releases (e.g. Deluxe Editions of the first three Friday the 13th films)
and some decent theatrical fare (e.g. Push, Fanboys). Check back soon for a new full-length review
for Godmonster of Indian Flats. |
|---|
| January 31, 2009
| Well, this is officially the last update of January 2009 and it's a big one.
The B-Movie Film Vault Forum has been upgraded to the latest version of YaBB.
I'm still working a few bugs out here and there, but overall, the Forum is running smoothly and looking pretty darned good
if you ask me. Sadly, since I was putting so much effort into getting the forum updated, I did not get to really do much
work on my upcoming review for Godmonster of Indian Flats. That review
won't posted until early next week (along with a new Genre Watch!), but in the meantime you can check out my refurbished (old) review for
Arcade, an Albert Pyun / Full Moon classic that bad movie lovers shouldn't miss! |
|---|
| January 27, 2009
| I was feeling restless, so I've done a bit more work on the site. I've fully
updated and fixed up my old review for A*P*E, the epic 1976 rip-off of King Kong.
The review is still primarily in its original format, but I did extensive work to make it readable, and I updated it to the
current color scheme of my more recent reviews. From this point on, all "rescued" reviews will be posted in the
Old Reviews Archive. Since these older reviews aren't up to par with my current written works,
I'm going to keep them seperate, until I finally get around to upgrading them all to the review format I now use. That's it for tonight,
but be sure to check back later this week for a full-length review of Godmonster of Indian Flats. And don't be too
surprised if more older reviews make their way back to the Vault too. |
|---|
| January 26, 2009
| A new capsule review is posted for The Ghouligans! Super Show!
This indie sketch comedy show utilizes misfit versions of classic movie monsters and also features hot go-go dancers and overdubbed luchadors! If that doesn't excite you,
then why are you even surfing this website?! Also, be sure to check out the lastest edition of the B-Movie
Film Vault Genre Watch! There's really nothing out in theaters this week, but take solace in the fact that there are some
truly awesome DVD and Blu-ray releases to look forward to. Finally, I've updated the look of the B-Movie Film Vault Blog
with a new template and color scheme to better fit the rest of the site. That's it for tonight, but stay tuned for more new
stuff later this week! |
|---|
| January 23, 2009
| Nothing major today folks. All I did tonight was update the B-Movie Film
Vault DVD Shop and fully integrate it into the rest of the site. Feel free to visit the store and do a little shopping, and
remember, every cent you spend there helps keep this website online. Stay tuned for more updates this weekend! |
|---|
| January 22, 2009
| The B-Movie Film Vault Genre Watch has gone weekly! To get the lowdown on all
of this current week's cult DVD, Blu-ray, and theatrical releases, CLICK HERE! |
|---|
| January 21, 2009
| (Woohoo! Here it is fellow b-movie lovers: The first new update of 2009!) Fans of Harry Warden take note that the review for My Bloody Valentine
has been updated with screenshots from the film, as well as a fresh new review for the recent (uncut) Special Edition DVD release of the film. Also,
check out my new capsule review for My Bloody Valentine 3D! This
movie was a blast and I can't recommend it enough. Grab your girl or a few of your buddies and check this flick out a.s.a.p! |
|---|
| December 3, 2008
| Before I go to work, here is a capsule review for Twilight.
This teeny-bopper vampire romance wasn't too bad, but I would only recommend it to fans of the book. Stay tuned for some
more new stuff later this week, including (hopefully) the December issue of The B-Movie Film Vault Genre Watch! Well I gotta
run b-movie fans, so I'll catch ya later! |
|---|
| November 18, 2008
| It's here! It's finally here! Issue number one of The B-Movie Film Vault Genre Watch is now
online! The article is divided up by week and features the latest theatrical, DVD, and Blu-ray releases that all of you cult
and b-movie fans will most likely drool over. November is not typically a good month for genre releases, but there are a few
worthwhile flicks to watch (and purchase). Go check out this new addition to the Vault and stay tuned for Issue #2 of
Genre Watch in a few weeks! |
|---|
| October 20, 2008
| Here is my first real update for the month of October b-movie fans! Enjoy a freshly
written full-length review for Fear No Evil, which was chosen by readers in
August's "Torture the Vault Master" poll. I had originally despised this movie, but after my recent viewing(s) I have
had a change of heart towards this low budget horror film. With this flick out of the way, I'm
ready for a true masochistic cinematic experience, so make sure you vote in the new "Torture the Vault Master" poll by clicking
HERE! That's all I have for you today, but
check back soon because I have some new sections in the works, and an ambitious slate of films that I plan on reviewing
before this month ends. G'night b-movie fans and keep fighting the good fight! |
|---|
| September 26, 2008
| I've been brainstorming a lot lately, and one thing I'd really like to get
back to doing at the Vault is reviewing indie films. And speaking of which, check out my capsule review for Eric Falardeau's Coming Home.
This indie short is a bit of a departure for this French-Canadian film maker, though thankfully Eric still delivers some
impressive gore, and an engaging storyline. That's all for now, but check back again very soon because
I will be adding a few new sections to the site, and will hopefully find time to type up some new reviews for your perusing
pleasure. |
|---|
| August 08, 2008
| Zebraman is the latest film to
end up in the Vault's capsule review archive! This bizarre fantasy film was made by the always eccentric Takashi Miike,
and amidst the cartoonish violence (and genuinely humorous moments), there is a nice little story about a man fighting for his (and everyone else's)
right to dream. Zebraman is a lot of fun to watch and I can't help but recommend this film!
And for those of you who have always wanted to torture a b-movie webmaster, I am giving you the chance to do so with a poll
that can be found on my BLOG and
in the IT Came from the Vault Forum. Vote for a bad movie from
the list provided and I shall review it! I'm leaving both polls open all this month and will (grudgingly) sit down, watch,
and review the movie that receives the most votes. So get voting b-movie fans and stay tuned for an upcoming review of
1981's The Burning, plus an updated review from ye olde Vault reviews archive! |
|---|
| July 21, 2008
| Greetings b-movie fanatics! I have finally finshed up that pesky review for
Legend of Dinosaurs and Monster Birds. This is one
of the craziest kaiju films ever made with an insane disco / funk / jazz sountrack, violent dinosaur attacks, and some of the most
creative cinematography that you will ever see in a giant monster movie! I'm going on a short vacation next week, so
expect a capsule review for Zebraman upon my return! |
|---|
| July 3, 2008
| Happy early Fourth of July b-movie fans! To celebrate this important date, when our
forefathers declared this country free from British tyranny, I present to you an updated review of
Uncle Sam! An undead soldier returns to his hometown, dons an Uncle Sam outfit,
and begins a personal war against unpatriotic Americans. This was a pretty bad movie, but it had a few saving graces... like
the most insane potato sack race you will ever see in a film! Well, enjoy the review and have a happy and safe 4th of July! |
|---|
| June 29, 2008
| To borrow a bit from the tagline of the latest movie I've reviewed: "The Vault Master is back...
and he's posted new stuff to read? What the Hell?!" Yup, I've got a fresh capsule review for Rocktober Blood
for you, to go along with the B-Movies That Rock Roundtable that I proposed to my
fellow webmasters to long ago. (Sorry it took so danged long to get the review and supersoaker page posted everyone!)
And if that weren't enough, I've written an article about the recently revived MONDO MOVIE NIGHT events in Scranton, PA!
I had a blast sitting amongst an active group of hecklers during a 35MM screening of "Warrior of the Lost World," and I can't
wait to see what else the event's coordinator has in store for us cult movie fans in the future. You can check out my new
article right here! Enjoy the new stuff guys and ghouls and stay tuned
for that pesky full-length review for Legend of Dinosaurs and Monster Birds
that I have been promising you for the last few months. |
|---|
| June 6, 2008
| This date in b-movie history: On (approximately) June 6, 2000, yours truly created a little webpage
on Yahoo Geocities called "J-Dawg's Horror and Sci-Fi Movie Review Website." That site was the seed that eventually bloomed
into the B-Movie Film Vault. While maintaining the site has been a bumpy ride lately (it was so much easier to update
frequently, back when I didn't have a full time job or a girlfriend), I refuse to abandon my longest running hobby. A lot of
blood, sweat, and tears have gone into the building (and rebuilding) of this site, and I'll be damned if I'll let normal everyday life get
in the way of sharing my love of b-films with the world. So thank you for visiting the Vault and a big thanks to Andrew Borntreger
(Badmovies.Org) and Shadow (Shadow's B-Movie Graveyard)
for their support and aid over the years. Without those guys, I may have never come this far. (You guys rock!) Well,
that's the big news for the day, but stay tuned b-movie fans because new reviews are on the horizon! |
|---|
| May 2, 2008
| Hey there fellow b-moviephiles! I apologize for not being around much last month,
but things have been pretty hectic in the life o' Vault Master. Between work, helping my folks out with yardwork and collecting
firewood for Winter '08 (they like to get an early start), plus my recent purchase of fun Wii games like "Super Smash Bros. Brawl"
and "Guitar Hero III," I just haven't had the time (or the energy) to sit down in front of my computer and do what I do best.
But today is a special day, because I bring to you a capsule review for Godzilla vs. Hedorah,
which is arguably the strangest Godzilla movie ever made. This review is part of the recent Reduce, Reuse, Recy-KILL
roundtable, as a celebration of Earth Day! Originally I had chosen to do a full write-up for Razorback,
but changed my mind at the last minute. Do expect a review for that giant killer boar epic later this summer. Well enjoy the new
review gang, and stay tuned for a full-length review for Legend of Dinosaurs and Monster Birds
within the next week or two. The review is more than half complete; I just need to get my butt in gear and finish it off. That's it
for now, so until next time b-movie fans, keep fighting the good fight! |
|---|
| March 31, 2008
| While I had originally planned to deliver a lot more content for your reading pleasure, I'm sorry to say that all I have for you right now is a freshly written capsule review for Hitoshi Matsumoto's
hilarious mockumentary, Dai-Nipponjin (2007). Expect reviews for Legend of Dinosaurs and Monster Birds and Puppet Master sometime within the next few days! Good night b-movie fans! |
|---|
| March 5, 2008
| I'm back from my short vacation and eager to post new reading material for all
of you b-movie fans. Keep an eye out for a capsule review for Dai-Nipponjin (2007)
and a full-length review for 1977's Legend of Dinosaurs and Monster Birds.
Until I get those completed and posted, please enjoy this updated review from the old Vault archives: Uninvited (1988).

| After a long hiatus, I finally got my butt in gear and remodeled the site a bit.
Along with a new color scheme, I've adopted Rick Sloane's Hobgoblins as my unofficial mascots. Cute little buggers aren't they?
Also, I've posted some new reviews: A full-length review for My Bloody Valentine
and a capsule review for My Demon Lover. Also, be sure to check
out my contribution to the VS. Roundtable, namely Alien vs. Predator!
That's it for now gang: Enjoy the site and please let me know what you think of the new look and please report any dead links
or errors that you may come across. Thanks in advance!

| Man I am exhausted from all this reviewing! And I truly
hope that you appreciate the hard work I put into the Vault because my latest adventure into the
world of b-movies was a painful one. Beware! The Blob (1972) (my contribution
to the BLOB FAMILY PICNIC roundtable) really
tested my mettle and I feel lucky to be alive after sitting through this terrible sequel to
the 1958 classic. Check out the multiple titles for this newest addition to the Vault archives on
The A.K.A. Page, and keep an eye out for
the reappearance of some older reviews in the archives over the next few months. Also expect to see
fresh reviews for The Host (2006) and
Ernest Scared Stupid (1991) next month. The latter of the
two will be part of yet another roundtable effort. That's it for now gang, so take care and
keep fighting the good fight!

| Yup, it's amazing but true; here's another new review (Hey! That rhymed!):
An alien entity hijacks a space probe, and returns to Earth to terrorize a small island in the South
Pacific. Will humanity survive the vicious onslaught of Space Amoeba (1970)?! Read my
review to find out! Also check out all of this film's alternate titles on the A.K.A. Page,
and be sure to visit the It Came from the Vault Forums
to post your own comments on my latest review, read the latest DVD news, or just chat with other
b-movie fans like yourself! Stay tuned for yet another new review late this week for Beware! The Blob (1972),
my contribution to the BLOB FAMILY PICNIC roundtable! Until then,
keep fighting the good fight b-movie fans!

| Some thought it would never happen, but here's a new review for Island Claws (1980)!
This review (along with my soon-to-be-completed review of Space Amoeba (1970)) is part of July's
B-Movie Beach Party roundtable! My second contriubtion to this event
will be up in another day or two. After that, expect another new review to pop up on the 22nd or 23rd, for
Beware! The Blob, the 1972 sequel to the
classic sci-fi/horror film starring Steve McQueen. This new review will be part of yet another
collaborative effort amongst various b-movie sites: THE BLOB FAMILY PICNIC roundtable! Enjoy the new
review and stay tuned for more new stuff!

| Andrew Borntreger of Badmovies.Org
has seen fit to give the Vault the coveted LEGION OF MUCK Award! You
can check out the award on the bottom left of the No-Frames Main Page or
the Frames Main Page. Thanks Andrew, this award means a lot! You rule!

| Get ready to transform and roll out Transformers fans!
To celebrate Michael Bay's extremely cool live-action Transformers movie,
Andrew Borntreger and I teamed up to review the original animated Transformers: The Movie (1986)!
(You can read Andrew's contribution to our "Reviewers in Disguise" team-up HERE!)
Also check out the listing for Transformers: The Movie
on the A.K.A. Page, see what's new in my constantly growing B-Movie Collection,
and feel free to spend some time in the B-Movie Film Vault Forums.
That's it for now b-movie fans, but stay tuned for several new reviews toward the end of the month
for the "B-Movie Beach Party" roundtable, and keep an eye out for THE HOST (2006)
which will hopefully rearing its ugly head later this month.

| Sorry gang, but The Host (2006)
will not be making an appearance today. Instead, revel in the cheesy goodness of Yor, The Hunter
from the Future (1983)! I did extensive rewriting on this one, so it is up to par with
my current written works! I've also added some new DVDs to My
B-Movie Collection including Attack of the Supermonsters (1982),
Ghidorah: The Three-Headed Monster (1964), and
Invasion of the Astro-Monster (1965). You can
order these movies (and more) right here at Amazon.com!
Well that's all I've got for you this week b-movie fans, but stay tuned for that pesky Host
review, a big update to the A.K.A. Page, more refurbished reviews
from the Vault's dark past, and a new review for Transformers: The Movie (1986)
at the very end of the month!

| After two nights of work, the refurbished review of John
Carpenter's The Fog (1980) is now uploaded! Expect a
review for The Host (2006) to appear on
the site on or around June 4th. My goal is to have this review done in time for the Vault's seventh anniversary
online! After that, I'll be tackling reviews for several team-ups and roundtables. To keep up to
date on what I'm reviewing next, check out the Coming Attractions Page
and/or read my BLOG! That's it for now, but
stay tuned for more updates to the site!

| Hey gang! The Vault now has
two freshly written reviews for the long anticipated DINO-WESTERN DOUBLE FEATURE. That's right,
you can now read my thoughts on The Beast of Hollow Mountain (1956)
and The Valley of Gwangi (1969)! I've also added a new DVD
to my B-Movie Collection, namely Ultraman Tiga Vol. 2: Fugitive from Beyond
and expect to get another DVD in the mail later this week. Also, don't forget to check out the The A.K.A. Page
to see the alternate titles for the two newest additions to the Vault review archives, and feel free to join the B-Movie
Film Vault Forums and post your thoughts on the aforementioned dino-westerns and my reviews
for them! Stay tuned for more updates to the Vault, plus several team-ups and roundtables over the next
few months!

| Yikes, I feel awful that I've let my site fall into disrepair
over the past month and a half. Shame on me! In any case, things are up to par now, at least
for a few more weeks. I'm starting to get the "itch" to write something, so I may be finishing up
my Valley of Gwangi review sometime soon. I guess
that all depends on how soon I get sick of playing Age of Empires 2. I've been playing that game a lot
lately (and I must be getting better because I can hold my own against multiple computer
opponents on Moderate difficulty) and I've also been watching episodes of Ultraman! The last two
I watched (The Monster Prince Parts 1 & 2 were
fantastic and I'm probably going to watch a few more before I hit the hay tonight. Well that's all
I've got for you today folks. Stay tuned for some new content at the Vault next week! G'night
b-movie fans! |

| March 22, 2007
| Hey b-movie fans! I am in fact still around (something
you would know for sure if you've visited MY BLOG or
FORUMS) and I've slowly been easing myself
back into the swing of things. I had a brief bout with depression a ways back, and soon after, I seemingly
lost all interest in writing. But I'm happy to say that I'm (hopefully) back in the saddle, as I
completed a new article for next month's issue of Rogue Cinema last night.
So what have I been doing during my nearly month-long break from writing? Well I've been watching a lot
of movies (without a notepad in hand) and busting my butt at work, so that I may continue paying
off various bills and loans. I also managed to squeeze in a few visits to a movie
theater (I saw "Ghost Rider," "300," and "Wild Hogs" and hope to see "TMNT" very soon as well!), and spent some quality time with my girlfriend (Tara) and my best friend (Chris). I guess
I just needed a break, and I feel that I'm ready to make a comeback. I've allowed the Vault
to lie fallow for far too long, so expect some new reviews and the reappearance of old ones by the truckload
as the next few months unfold. Wish me luck and stay tuned for new stuff!

| March 3, 2007
| Yikes! I've really got to get on the ball! I can't believe
I've gone an entire month without any progress here at the Vault (or over at Rogue Cinema for that matter!).
Truthfully I've been really tired lately and I've got a slight case of writer's burnout that plagues
most, if not all of us online reviewers. But I'm going to be having a bit of extra time off from work next week
due to my recently (and temporarily) altered work schedule, so I should finally be able to get the
highly-anticipated(?) "Dino-Western Double Feature" completed soon. In the meantime, I've added
a new flick or two to my B-Movie Collection and updated
the Articles Page with my latest contributions to Rogue Cinema!
Catch ya later b-movie fans; please bear with me a bit longer and I shall reward you with some new reading
material!

| February 2, 2007
| Yes folks, I am still around! For those of you that had
nearly lost hope, be sure to check out my Blog
to keep up to date on my life and website happenings! There's no new (or old) reviews to read yet,
but I have updated the main pages of the Vault with some new stuff including: Some crazy b-movie news
and rumors, a new poll, and a new "Movie of the Month!" I've also fixed a few minor bugs around the site
and updated the Articles page with links to my latest contributions
to Rogue Cinema. That's pretty much all there is
for updates right now...
In other Vault news, traffic has greatly increased since the Vault made it's
history-making move to its new home (a big thanks to everyone that visited!), but I'm still scratching my head as to why the Forum is still
so quiet. It's fully open to the public and I keep posting away in there in order to generate some interest
but still, there's nothing! (So head on into the Forum if you have some free time and give it some lovin', the Bruce Cambpell way!)
Anyway, this month should be a productive one for yours truly. I've got webpages
set up (and have taken notes) for three films and I plan on getting these reviews done ASAP! Once they are
out of the way, I plan on updating and uploading as many older reviews as possible, since I'm sure you're all sick
of clicking on broken links.
Lastly, I've got a good workload going for March's issue of Rogue Cinema
with one interview planned (with Johnny Allen Shaw, the director of My Big Fat Homeless Berkeley Movie),
as well as an article or two, plus, I've gotten a handful of screeners to watch and review as well. How
do I keep up with all this stuff? I really don't know... but what I do know is that I'm going to bed, so
good night b-movie fans!

| Sadly there's not much to brag about just yet Vault fans. But I have not been idle
(which you might have known if any of you actually used my damn Forums! LOL!
I've just uploaded my updated review for The Ape (1940) and I've
posted some cult movie news on the main page(s) of the Vault, concerning Bruce Campbell's latest film.
I'm working hard on getting three new reviews done for the Vault, and I'm gearing up to get
a jump on my Rogue Cinema workload which thankfully is at an all time low this month. So stick around,
use the forums, and keep visiting because the Vault is just gonna keep getting bigger and better!
Take care b-movie fans! |
