CHILLERAMA (2011) "Drive In. Freak Out."
I heard about Chillerama months ago
on the web, and decided that I had to see it. As soon as it was released on DVD and Blu-ray, I snatched it up and have since watched it multiple times. Featuring four of
today's more talented Horror directors (Adam Green, Joe Lynch, Adam Rifkin, and Tim Sullivan), a talented cast (veteran actors
Richard Riehle, Ray Wise, and Eric Roberts in supporting roles), and an anthology of four gonzo Horror tales, this is a fun
little gem that will crack you up and gross you out. The film takes place during the final night of a drive-in where a
bizarre zombie epidemic begins sweeping the moviegoers while they watch classic unknown genre films like WADZILLA (a giant sperm
attacks New York), I Was a Teenage Werebear (homoerotic musical about young teens turning into monstrous doughy leatherclad bikers),
The Diary of Anne Frankenstein (the Frank family unwittingly gives Hitler the power to recreate Frankenstein's experiments), and... DEATHICATION
(a fecal festival of the perverse!). Chillerama is a blast and is
guaranteed to offend and disgust most who watch it, but for the rest of us, it a dose of good ole-fashioned trash cinema. If you're
a relatively normal person, avoid this film at all costs, but if your taste in film even slightly mirrors my own, then you need
to see this flick!
