MOVIE OF THE MONTH:

"Nothing says 'date movie' like a 3D ride to Hell!" I have always been a fan of the original My Bloody Valentine, so when the 3D remake came out I made sure to go see it. (Twice!) My Bloody Valentine 3D lacks the atmosphere of its predecessor but makes up for that by being fast-paced, energetic, and violent as all Hell! In this version, slasher "hero" Harry Warden returns to haunt the town of Harmony, ten years after his brutally impressive murder spree. But is it really him? And if so, has he come back to get revenge on Mike Hanniger, who also happens to have just shown up in town after a long absence? Well, you'll just have to watch this fun 3D slasher throwback and find out for yourself! I readily recommend this film, but truthfully I have yet to watch my Blu-ray copy of it, so I'm not sure how well this particular 3D film translates to 2D. Regardless, this movie easily gets my stamp of approval, and should serve as a satisfying alternative to any "chick flicks" that some of you menfolk will be subjected to this Valentine's Day.
